Fire Station Visit

As Jon gets closer to finishing his classes we are starting to feel the pressure to get in our last few fire station visits before he changes stations. We have been wanting these friends to come to the station with us for a long long time and it was so fun to finally make it happen. Jon pulled everything out for us and made it super special - definitely not our typical visit to the station. The kids were in heaven - perhaps Zion most of all who really hasn't gotten to do any of that stuff yet.

As we had just arrived they got a call. It was fun to watch the truck pull out.
Everyone gathered together as the truck backed in to make room for the ladder to go up.

After the visit we went across the street to the mall to eat. Zion and Kate were pretty hilarious!

SD Botanical Gardens

It has been way too long since we have visited this magical place. We went last Tuesday with Mimmi and Tracy's boys intending only to stay for a couple of hours and ended up staying the entire day. The kids were just so captivated with every area, you could hardly pull them away from each spot. As I was sorting through these pictures both Eden and Zion were begging me to take them back and asking me when we could go next.

Zion captivated by the train. I love how he climbed up the wire fence and stayed there forever - unmoved by the pain he must have been feeling in his feet and just so entirely entranced by the train.

Remember Aga? Eden did and was so looking forward to saying hello again.
Train Spotting

It's a rare day when we go and they actually have the bubbles out. The kids were in heaven! I'm pretty sure we played here till the bubbles were gone!

So this is a strange story....Zion found this beautiful bird outside our sliding glass door to our backyard the other day.  It was such a stunning creature and a bird that I had not remembered seeing flying around before. The kids and I were mesmerized by it and studied it for quite some time before we removed it. Eden kept saying that it was not a real bird...
Not many days later we came by the same type of bird at the gardens, and I have not seen one since....

Flying Kites

We had incredible kite flying weather a couple of days ago therefore took full advantage of it and the kids were in Heaven! I was too busy really soaking in their smiles and joy to really capture any of it on camera but it was so fun and such a great reminder of how simple childhood bliss can be.

Zion's 1st Day of Mommy & Me

I had the distinct privilege yesterday of taking Zion to his first mommy and me class. He was 1 week old when I started this class with Eden. I remember thinking how big Eden was at the time. I remember feeling like it would be ages before Zion was old enough for the class. Now Zion is in this same class and he still seems so small to me. Granted he is as young as you can be and still take the class but I guess I just can't wrap my head around the fact that we are already here. In any case, I have been looking forward to this for weeks and the first day met my every expectation of how it would go for him.

First day of school picture time! At first he tried to play Eden's (I refuse to take a picture) game, but that didn't last long.
Eden stepping in to be a good example for Zi and show hime how to take a good picture.
And that's all it took...
Showing his friend Quinn (who's sister was in Eden's class) the rolly-polly he found...

Zion and Kate, who's brother was also in the class with Eden.
