Strawberry Farm Field Trip

We went to the strawberry farm with Eden's school today and Eden chowed on Strawberries. I wasn't planning on blogging tonight but when I was going through the pictures from today and saw this sequence of Eden eating this strawberry I felt it was something that Jon could truly appreciate, and since he is at work for the next few days I thought he might like to wake up to this silly little girl on his phone in the morning. So here it is...

It's hard to get a pic of these two together, especially when we are out and about. But now that Zi is stable enough to sit on his own, it is getting easier. This pic isn't amazing but it is a pic of my two little loves together which is amazing to me.

Firetruck Day at Preschool!

We had firetruck day at preschool & Jonny brought us the Firetruck!! It was so much fun! The guys hooked the hose up to the fire hydrant and let the kids hold the hose and play in the water. It was all very special. Something that we will never forget.

Lew's Visit - Our Photos

Here are some of our pics from Lew's visit. The first four are from the New San Diego Children's Museum which was a really neat museum but conceptually a little old for Eden. The bottom five are from the botanical gardens which thanks to Lew we are now members. I am already trying to figure out when we can get back there, it was just that much fun!

Lew's Visit

Grandpa Lew came to visit this week. We intended to take him camping out at Joshua Tree but the weather did not cooperate for camping with the children so we took him to the children's museum and zoo in San Diego the first day and the botanical gardens in Encinitas on the second day. It is too bad that we could not get out to Joshua Tree but Eden had a blast both days, which was pretty special, because ever since she potty trained I have been wanting to treat her, but she was just so sick that whole time. So the past couple of days really catered to her which for her was a real treat. She especially had fun the day we went to the botanical gardens. At one point while Jon was pushing her in the stroller she said: "Dad, I'm having a really fun day today." Here are some of the pictures Lew took while he was here. I will put my pictures up in a separate post.

Everyday Bits

Zion already sleeps with a stuffed animal. I know it is wrong in every way, and every night I sneak in and take it away before I go to bed, but it is just so sweet how he loves it already. This afternoon I went to wake him up from his nap and he was holding onto the tail. I tried to get a pic while he was sleeping but got this happy smiling baby instead.

Eden has been very busy the last couple of days making smoothies in the courtyard with bubbles, flowers and water. This activity literally keeps her entertained for hours.

Here she is talking about her smoothies. She is starting to talk so well, and it makes me kind of sad. I don't feel as if I have enough video of her talking, and I feel like it is merely a matter of moments before all the "baby" will fall out of her tones and inflections. Already that stuff is slipping away and I want to remember this stage of her forever.

The Other Side of Zi

For the most part, Zion is pretty quiet and reserved (for most people, most of the time). But Eden brings out a side of Zion that few of us get to see. She will have him rolling in laughter if she gives him the slightest attention. These two had been at this game for at least 10 minutes before I finally got the video camera out.

Potty Training

I don't even know where to start. Long story short Eden is doing so great! I am blown away by her and how amazing she is doing with potty training! Unfortunately, as fate would have it, she became super sick on day one of this whole deal. Fever, cough, diarrhea...my heart is in pieces for her. But she may just be the toughest human being I have ever met. She has not had one accident with pee (in three days). We even went for a walk down to town yesterday, and at night if she has to pee she gets up and goes.(!?!) (My hero!) She has pooped on the potty twice, and has only had two poop involved accidents (yesterday) which also involved diarrhea, so I can't really blame her. You can see from the pics she is pretty droopy. The first two were taken today, and the others were day one. Zi, as you can see, is having a blast. There might be nothing he loves more than hanging out at the house, eating, playing, and sleeping all day. Even though he looks pretty good, I am starting to worry about him. His lungs are super rattly, and getting worse each day. This virus is a brutal one. I really have never seen Eden this sick for this many days. Hopefully it clears up soon because I can't wait to celebrate with my amazing girl! I am so so proud of her!!

Around Town

We have the best days just cruising around town. It seems like one of these days I am sure to get sick of the redundancy but for now I can't get enough of it. And I know that all too soon our life may be different and our time won't be managed quite in this way. So I am soaking it up and loving it while it lasts.

Zion's First Solid Food

This video is long, and somewhat painful, but for Jon and I it is pretty hilarious because it is the feisty Zion we know and love. Jon is at work, so he missed Zi's first feeding but I know he will appreciate this video while he is there. Everyone else, you should probably skip it.

Beach Days Never Get Old

We have had such beautiful weather this winter, so much so that we are finding it hard to get anything done. Every day that we are all home together and it is beautiful all we want to do is play at the beach. Our poor garden is really suffering but sooner or later we figure we will buckle down. For now who can resist the draw of sand and sun?

Zion is sitting by himself really well now, and he loves to just root around in the sand and see what he can find to put in his mouth. This last time he took his first real face plant, but he didn't seem to mind at all. It is hard to get good pics of Eden cheeks these days - she is just so busy and all my pictures are awkward in motion shots.
