G'pa Lew & G'ma Annie

We had a nice little visit from Lewis & Annie last week. It's really nice to have little blocks of time with them. The kids LOVE all the extra attention and it's really special to witness all of the love that is showered upon them. We are so very blessed.

Look at Zion's body language as he attempts to throw this frisbee. Intense.

One of the days we took the train down to Solana Beach and Jon picked us up and took us to the Botanical Gardens. It has been about a year since Zion last rode on the train. He was thrilled!
Can you see the frog?
Stoked about the lizard.
I loved this little green bird hiding in the bush.

On our last full day together we paddled in the morning then went for a boat ride later. Annie went SUPing for her very first time and kind of blew me away with her skills - going around the entire harbor and never falling in (until we got back), and I kind of think she jumped in because she wanted to get wet.
Lew also had some pretty impressive skills that we never knew he had. (:
This was our inaugural trip with seats! Yay! It was so nice to have a place to sit!
We did a little fishing and appropriately I caught a "Jonny Bass"
Bummed that I did not get a great pic of this moment, but G'pa Lew spent quite a bit of time inside the cabin reading to the kids - they were thrilled!
This was also our inaugural trip with a bait tank, and Zi spent most of his time watching the bait fish swim around and fishing them out with this net.
No whales but quite a few dolphins which I think is a little bit more exciting anyway.
These two
On our final morning everyone walked Eden to school and said good-bye. Eden loved showing off her school and classroom to Lew & Annie.
I don't think I've ever mentioned how much Zi loves to pick flowers.
Last game of catch.

Grammy/Grampy Slumber Party

A couple of weeks ago we had a slumber party at Grammy & Grampy's house. The kids had so much fun! As soon as we got in the car to head home Eden complained that she wished we could have stayed for four days, then later she told Jon that she wished she could have stayed all week. Then she told me that she wished I would just leave she and Zi there and go rock climbing or something. All of that is really something coming from Eden who typically does not easily leave my side. But her Grandparents really spoiled her this trip, letting her watch a movie in bed, taking her to a museum then to a delicious lunch, oh and buying her special toys from the museum. It's really no wonder she didn't want to leave.
Zi was obsessed with playing catch with Grampy
St Patty's Day was coming up so Eden was super into all things Rainbows and Clovers

Waiting for the museum to open.
