SanO Family Surf

I don't have a lot to say about this day except that it was one of my favorite afternoons to date. There is nothing that I value more than togetherness, and on this afternoon, we were really together - even Klamath. Also, though it goes without saying, Jon is a hero. He is my hero, he is the kids' hero, he is even Klamath's hero. And how could he not be? SuperDad.

SanO Tidepools

We don't have low tide in the summer around here like we do in the fall and winter. I'm not sure why - Jon could explain it better than I can, but in the summer, the super low tides typically seem to occur at night. In any case it's always a long summer waiting for these SanO tide pools to be exposed once again. The first low tide of the fall makes us feel like kids in the candy shop - turning over all the rocks looking for our ocean friends once again. 

The octopus are my very favorite. There is something about them that I just adore - it's quite possible that they bring me far more joy than they bring any of the kids. 

Snorkel Date

Every once in a while, Jon is home while both the kids are in school and we have this magical couple of hours all to ourselves. Those hours are typically spent either surfing or climbing together or most typically both, but on this particular day we paddled our boards out to seal rock and went snorkeling. This was such a beautiful morning and definitely the best date I've been on in a long while.
