This is an event that the kids look forward to all year. Although this year (the boys especially) seemed to be more interested in playing than actually carving. But that is understandable. With school, it seems that they see each other less and less so they were just hungry to play and have fun. We actually grew our own pumpkins this year (back in July). I was surprised that they lasted all the way till October - needless to say it was super special to be able to carve ones that we had grown. (:
