We had an extra fun Halloween this year with two parties to go to before going trick or treating with the Walla cousins. Each spot was so special and fun, and it was an honor to be included in so many friends' activities. On this night more than ever it really hit home to me what a special place San Clemente is. It just has such a small town feel and there is so much kindness and warmth throughout. We are so blessed to be here.

Party #2 - look at all those kids!!! |
The highlight for the kids was definitely meeting up with their cousins. Jon's sister Tracy, lives in this incredibly unique neighborhood that literally goes all out for Halloween. I mean EVERY house you walk up to is decked out like a haunted house. It is impressive to say the least, although a bit scary for the kids. We were definitely dealing with some nightmares after the fact - for almost a week straight in fact. That made me feel a little bit bad, and I realize now why my parents kept us away from that as children - I already had enough nightmares growing up (because of an over-active imagination and nothing more). The kids are doing perfectly fine now though and I know they wouldn't trade the experience for anything - it's something they have come to look forward to all year. And for all its scariness it's really amazing how cohesive this neighborhood is and how much joy they take in going all out for the kids. Such a wonderful thing to witness.
Scary City - Jen Clark I think you would really appreciate Tracy's neighborhood.
These pics are from Halloween with Zion's class. It's always so much fun to see the little ones all dressed up. Zion was so proud of his costume this year - always so excited to get his "muscles" on and so proud to be wearing his "muscles" for all his friends to see. The little girl standing in front of him in the pics seemed to really believe he was super man. Her mom said she was a big superman fan and she stuck to Zion like glue on this day - seemingly mesmerized by Zi's transformation. (:

From another wonderful playdate with these incredible boys that Zi has become friends with over the last few months. |
