We had such a wonderful visit with Grandma Kathy about a week and a half ago. It was one of those magical visits where the kids were behaving almost perfectly and the weather was the epitome of Southern California dreams. We had very little in the way of commitments while she was here so we were able to just play, enjoying her and each other.

Evening foot rubs - the kids were in heaven! |

We took Kathy for her first real paddle - I think it's safe to say she was hooked! |

We walked to dinner the second to last night. This was our view as we were getting on the beach trail to head home. The rest of the walk home was quite dark. We had had a pretty long day already so I was kind of tired and over it but Eden was thrilled with it. It's hard to put into words but she was on fire - totally energized by the outing. It made my heart happy to see her with such joy. |
We were having so much fun that we sweet talked Kathy into staying for one more day and I am glad we did because we were able to take her on another paddle and just generally have another really magical day.

Do you spy a Klamath bear? |
After some downtime at home in the afternoon we went down to Doho so Eden and Jonny could surf. It was an incredibly beautiful afternoon, if not a little cold, and really fun to watch Eden and Jon enjoy the little peelers all by themselves.

Party Wave! Arguably one of the best waves of Jon's life! |

Eden's handi-work from our night out to dinner. One of my favorite pictures of Kathy and I. (: |
