Christmas Eve

This year we had such a special Christmas Eve. We started the day with some last minute errands and a paddle around the Harbor, visited Jon at the fire station in the afternoon, and ended the day at our church Christmas Eve celebration. Our visit with Jonny was really special and sweet. While I was there I started to regret signing the kids up for the church Christmas performance as it meant we would be missing Christmas Eve dinner at the fire station with the rest of the families. But the minute we arrived at the church service venue all my regrets vanished and I knew we were right where we were supposed to be. Jon's mom met us for the service which made it extra special and made the kids feel even more proud. The whole night was incredibly touching, one that I hope to never forget.

This picture has become something of a tradition for us. I know we have gotten at least a version of it for the past three years and running now.
Here are the kids trying on their 'costumes' at home in preparation for the big night - an angel and a cow. Eden really didn't want anything to do with it, but I told her that it would be Zion's first big 'play' and that he would really need her help and support. After that she was all in.

Bummed I couldn't manage to get a better pic of Mimmi with the kids.

We had rehearsed the songs in the week prior and both the kids were belting them out on the stage - especially Eden(!).
It was such an incredible evening - which took place at the local petting zoo. The donkey was making noise in the background, we were all sitting and barrels of hay - it was by far the best Christmas Eve I have ever experienced and such an incredible time of reflecting on the incredible gift of Jesus & His love.
