G'pa Lew & G'ma Annie came for a quick visit a couple of weeks ago. We had such a nice visit with them. As always they spoiled the kids with love and attention. My only regret about the visit was that there was too much real life going on all around it - with school, swim lessons, soccer, sicknesses and everything else. Visits are much more fun when real life can be suspended. But really, around here even real life isn't so bad. Not so bad at all. As it was Eden was practically in tears after we sent Lew off. Both he and Annie hold a dear place in all of our hearts.
The day Lew and Annie arrived we picked them up at the train station let them re-group at the house for half a second then booked it to the beach for some low tide magic. They came during Eden's two week period of surf addiction and got to see her catch wave after wave.

Evening at Churches
We met some friends who were camping down at Churches on the second night. They fed us an incredible dinner and it was fun to introduce Lew and Annie to some of our good friends and another favorite beach.

Walking home from dropping Eden off at school. Zi is showing us his 'surf stance' on his scooter. |
Trail One
We took Lew to the area of SanO that burned in the spring fires. Zi was funny, he kept thinking Jon should show up any second and kept asking where the fire was. We tried to explain it to him at least 50 times. He never seemed to understand fully.
After School at the Pool
We got so lucky to have the pool all to ourselves on a Friday afternoon. It felt very luxurious and was just the refreshment that we all needed!

One of Eden's favorite childhood friends Ben stayed and watched Eden play for a bit. |

She had a big cheering section - Tracy and the cousins were there too. |
Lew's Pics
I got these pics from Lew the other day and wanted to add them to this post. I especially love the song/poem he included which he had originally written for his son's 4th (?) bday and revised so appropriately for Zi who is not only always asking why but what 10 hundred times a day.
