We don't have low tide in the summer around here like we do in the fall and winter. I'm not sure why - Jon could explain it better than I can, but in the summer, the super low tides typically seem to occur at night. In any case it's always a long summer waiting for these SanO tide pools to be exposed once again. The first low tide of the fall makes us feel like kids in the candy shop - turning over all the rocks looking for our ocean friends once again.
The octopus are my very favorite. There is something about them that I just adore - it's quite possible that they bring me far more joy than they bring any of the kids. |
