1st Day of Kindergarten

After great anticipation Eden started Kindergarten this year. She was excited, she was ready, but she was also very traumatized. There really was no avoiding it. After 6 years of being almost exclusively with mom and dad it was so incredibly hard for her to part from us every single morning five days a week. So the first week at drop off, the entire city of San Clemente could hear her lamentations and it proved to be a period of deep growth for us all. Thankfully this lasted merely the span of a week and soon enough she began to blossom in her new routine. Now, nearly 5 months into it (again this blog is post-dated) she really loves going to school, has a passion for the Spanish language, and I've been told by her teacher that she is the top student in her class. This child, Eden, man she has the most tender soul. She does not welcome change no matter how trivial or great the change may be, but she is incredibly strong and far more courageous than she will ever realize.

One of her best buds Merek (not in first grade) he and Ruby often seem to be her saving grace. She loves them both so deeply and hardly a day goes by that these two aren't running to greet her with big open arms. I'm sure it makes her feel special to have the first graders greeting her in this way.

Eden was all smiles and tough till it was time to say good-bye. That's when things got kind of radical, but I will spare this space all those gory details.
