Mountain Fever in Spring

Despite the fact that Jon basically has salt water running through his veins, he admittedly loves the mountains too. Back in our climbing days, we would literally count the days till it was warm enough to go up to the mountains to climb. Now that we have kids we have kind of made it a family thing too. Last year we took Eden up to the mountains in the spring. Which, man is it a magical time up there this time of year! It is warm enough to climb and fish but you can still enjoy some snow. This was our most "productive" post kids mountain camping endeavor to date, which I think is saying a lot since it was our first time having two kids up there. We were able to climb, fish, ride bikes, sled, and snowboard (Jon & I took turns & each got to board for half a day). It really was a dream with many (minor) glitches along the way. One being that we forgot our camera battery and did not realize it until two-thirds of the way up so all we had was Jon's iPhone to take pics with the entire time. Another being that I shut the car door on Jon's fly-rod just before we all headed out to go fishing (so heart breaking). But there are so many things to remember and so many things to keep in order that we are very fortunate things went as well as they did. And I haven't even mentioned the kids yet and how much fun they had! I can't even put into words their pure joy over every minute of the trip. Therefore I have posted 1,000 pictures to depict it.

Eden took the fishing very seriously. She has told everyone who asks her about her trip that she caught fish on Daddy's pole but not her own.
