Beach Days

When Jon has 4 days off, we normally have all sorts of plans to go camp somewhere, and more often than not we find ourselves just stickin' close to home. But home isn't so bad, especially when it is nice at the beach.

*Baby Boy*

It's official! We are having a boy and are very excited! I'm not a huge fan of ultrasound pics, but I had to post one token pic just this once.

Just Another Day

Eden wants to be in on all of the action these days. She is intent on helping with all things, which is actually not helpful at all, but it is really sweet. I can't cook anymore without her throwing a fit because she wants me to hold her so she can see everything, but it impossible to cook one-handed, so for now I have found her a nice little spot under the cabinets which she is quite contented by. Soon she will be too tall to fit there and I will have to figure out something else. Perhaps a better form of discipline? Just a thought...

When Jon is at work I hear nothing but various forms of "Dad" & "Dadda" all day. Today is his 3rd day gone and she has been whiny and uncooperative all day, but the minute I ask her if she wants to go see Daddy, she straightens right up. She sits right next to me, lets me get her dressed and is cooperative and giddy all the way to the car. But I can't blame her...Daddy really is a tough act to beat.

More Swings

Eden was so funny on the swing today. She must have just been happy to be getting out of the house.

Swings, Beach & Farrells

Jon has been working more this month so I am trying to put more of our everyday up so that he doesn't feel left out. Today Eden enjoyed the swings of all things more than she ever has in her whole life - so that was fun. And after our walk/swing/beach adventure she got to go to Farrells with her Grandparents - I don't think she quite understood what exactly she was getting into, but was super happy about it once it all sunk in.

Uh-Oh, She has a girly side after all...

This one is for you Jon.

Girls Only Camping

This past weekend, I attempted to take Eden on our first girls only camping trip. We had planned to go as a family but Jon ended up having to work, and it was supposed to be the biggest full moon in 18 years so Eden and I decided to head to the desert to see it first hand. Unfortunately, it was a disaster on so many levels. When we left San Clemente it was raining which made for a very windy and chilly desert environment, hence an unhappy baby and a less happy mommy. On top of that, the camping was full and although we got a spot to ourselves, we ended up offering to share with a couple of girls (seemed harmless at first) until they invited their 6 other friends to join us - disaster. Add to that being 3 - going on 4 months pregnant, unbearable fatigue, a not so perfect ankle, and a 25 lb baby that takes two steps down the trail then sits in the sand and tells me to "sit, sit" next to her, and you will have a pretty good visual for the day. But it really was more fun than I am painting it. Eden, Klamath and I made a pretty good go of it, even though we didn't end up sticking it out. And it was a good thing we came home that evening because the following morning there were wind warnings out in the desert and Eden and I would have likely been eaten alive by it. All this to say, there will be another girls only camping trip in the future, but we will be going on a weekday, and we will wait until the weather is absolutely perfect.

Eden with her three layers on top and bottom, but her poor hand were purple and swollen.

This is after we finally got the tent sent up. At one point I put Eden in the tent and told her to stay in it so that it wouldn't blow away (I had to go get the sleeping pads). Well that did not go over so well. No sooner had I stepped away then she was screaming and the tent was doing cartwheels in the wind with her in it! It was awefull and she was terrified. Later the girls that joined me couldn't imagine how I had set up the tent in the wind all by myself when they could hardly get it up with 2 of them. Well, if they would have been there to see it they would have known that it did not go smoothly.

Say Cheese

These days, when you tell Eden to smile, this is often what you will get...
