A lot has happened since my last post. Eden has turned one. We took a big road trip up to Oregon for a friend's wedding, had an amazing time, but I broke my leg on the way home, while bouldering; so our plans for the future have been dashed. (We had an epic month long fishing/surfing trip planned for the month of October. Eden & I were gonna fly down to Cabo with our friend Chieko & Jon & Chieko's fiance Aaron were gonna meet us down there. While down there we were going to pick up a tent trailer we purchased & cruise back up the baja peninsula in our tent trailer.) Now who knows if that dream trip will ever be a reality. I have been completely incapacitated by my broken leg. I can hardly take care of myself much less Eden. It is a crushing blow. Someone posted a Bible verse on facebook this am which has always resonated strongly with me, and now it means more to me than ever before. The verse is from Proverbs 16:9 & it states: "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." God has definitely redirected our steps this time. I am interested to see what He has in store. What He will teach me/us through this. I don't know if I have ever been in a place in which I was more broken or more humbled in my entire life. The only way we will get through this physically & emotionally is by the Grace & Redeeming power of God. I am at His feet, willing & able to do only one thing & that is to wait upon Him. God help us...
On a different note, Eden is amazing. We have had day after day of sitting around the house since my surgery, just trying to make it through the day. And Eden is joy and happiness and love all in one little baby body. There are a few things she has done that have simply blown me away. One in particular sticks out & I never want to forget it. We were all hanging out in the living room one day & Jon had decided to take Klamath & Eden down to the park to run around. Jon asked Eden if she could get Klamath's collar for him (which was in the guest room) she nodded her head yes, but neither of us thought she would actually do it. But sure enough she wandered off into the gues room & came back with Klamath's collar. We were amazed! On a similar note, it was late in the afternoon, around the time that we would normally go down to the school to play, and Eden went to get Klamath's collar to put it on him - indicating that she was ready to go down to the school. I don't know why but these things astound me.
